Since our founding in 1979, our work at First Friends has been guided by the needs of our children,

as individuals and as part of a group. We understand that pre-schoolers come to us at different

developmental levels and that the pace of their progress is personal. We know that we must meet

the children at their own level in order to help them progress. At the same time, we appreciate the

importance of positive social experiences with peers as essential building blocks for later happiness

and success in life. By creating nurturing relationships based on trust, our teachers discover the

strengths and interests of each student and draw on these to advance their learning in all the domains

of early childhood development: social/emotional, cognitive, language and physical.
